About Me

Karla A. Barbieri received her Master's Degree from the New England School of Acupuncture.  She has worked for over 20 years providing care in various settings including private practice, a physical conditioning and rehabilitation facility, a holistic health center and a community health center. Karla has successfully treated a wide variety of conditions including headaches, joint pain, neck pain, back pain, sciatica, respiratory issues, digestive problems, gynecological problems, insomnia and emotional imbalance. She performs Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) style acupuncture. Prior to working as an acupuncturist, Karla received a B.A. in Psychology from Boston College and worked in human services for six years, including two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa.  Drawing from her experiences, she brings gentle compassionate care to her healing practice.

Diplomate of Acupuncture

A Diplomat of Acupuncture is an acupuncturist who is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®). It is a considerable professional achievement to earn the designation Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM).  NCCAOM certification indicates to employers, patients, and peers that one has met national standard for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture as defined by the acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) profession.  For additional information about the Diplomate of Acupuncture, please visit the NCCAOM website.

Licensed Acupuncturist, Board of Registration in Medicine, Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Master of Acupuncture, New England School of Acupuncture
